Donkey Rides are entirely at the discretion of the owner/handler but are specifically aimed at smaller children
in the interests of the welfare of the donkeys. As a general guide no child over
six stone (38 kg) will be allowed to ride but the owner/handler has the right to refuse anybody a ride on any of the donkeys. If a child is behaving inappropriately or dangerously whilst riding then such child
will be asked to dismount in the interests of Health and Safety and no refund of the fee will be made.
Parents are asked to ensure that their children behave appropriately whilst on the donkeys or in the vicinity
of the animals. Whilst donkeys are generally very good natured it must be remembered
that they are animals and can react to outside stimuli, such as provocation and loud noises.
It is not permitted to feed anything to the donkeys.
Dogs must be kept away from the donkeys and be on a lead at all times.
Whilst every effort will be made to attend an event, Rainbow Donkeys cannot be held responsible for transport
failure, sickness or any other bona fide reason for not being able to bring the donkeys.
Notice will be given as soon as possible to the organisers of any event.
In the event of bad weather a decision will be taken with the organisers of the event, either before the day
if possible but on the day itself if necessary, but safety of children and animals will be paramount in any decision to cancel. Rainbow Donkeys cannot be held responsible for any financial loss for non-attendance.
Organisers of events are asked to provide a safe quiet area away from noisy activities, i.e. helicopter rides,
bouncy castles etc. where the donkey rides can take place. It is the responsibility
of the organisers of any event to ensure that permission is obtained from any Council or Committee for donkeys to be used
on any public site, such as a village hall or recreation ground. The donkeys
do not wear metal shoes but if the ground is soft then Rainbow Donkeys cannot guarantee that no damage to turf or grass will
be incurred and accept no responsibility for any such damage.
Suitable access to the event must be available for a 7.5 ton lorry together with a suitably safe area for parking
and unloading/loading of the donkeys. If this is not available then Rainbow Donkeys
reserve the right to leave the event.
Hard hats are available if required but are not compulsory during donkey rides.
Confirmation of any booking in writing or by e-mail within 7 days is required by Rainbow Donkeys and in respect
of private parties or promotional work a 20% deposit will be required. This may
be repaid by Rainbow Donkeys in the event of inclement weather/unsuitable conditions or an alternate date offered but any
such decision is entirely at the discretion of Rainbow Donkeys.
Rainbow Donkeys reserve the
right to leave an event or party in the event of any of the above Terms and Conditions not being met.
